Oh, Texas.  I woke up yesterday morning in Spain, and went to bed in the US.  In theory that’s just insane.

Now I say in theory because something just dawned on me.  I have really good adapting skills, which is my way of saying that nothing really shocks me so much.  Things happen, situations change, and I don’t really react on a level that I expect a normal/average person would.  Now, this can be a good thing or a bad thing.  It’s good when I’m changing situations that are out of my control and I seem calm and collected.  It’s bad when something good is happening and I just look like I did not get excited about it.  Ooo.. I get in trouble with my friends for that.

So, my adjustment to the US has been a smooth transition.  Although!  I think I ran out of room in my closet.  I need new hangers and new forms of storage.  MIERDA!  (I love that word/interjection.)

My body clock is back to normal too.. see?  Adaptation skills.  There was never any shock, any ‘come to Jesus’ moments.. with me it’s always just “Well.. I guess I have to just deal with it.”

My favorite quote for coping with life— Deal with it!

  • Me: Donde estamos en el mapa?
  • Random guy: No hablo Espanol.
  • Me: ...Then what do you speak?
  • Random guy: English or French
  • Me: Ohh.. ok. Do you know where we are on the map?
  • Random [French] guy: No

  • Me to Laura: Then why didn't he say anything when we were talking in English right in front of him!
